Bernstein Node Chemnitz

At the Chemnitz University of Technology, teaching and research in computational neuroscience span multiple faculties and institutes, encompassing a wide range of disciplines — including psychology, psychophysics, psychophysiology, behavioral neuroscience, cognitive science, sensor technology, computer science, AI, and robotics. Computational neuroscience is also part of Chemnitz’s Core Competency “Humans and Technology”, a cross-faculty center for interdisciplinary research on the interaction between humans and technology.

Besides their joint neuroscientific research, all members of the Bernstein Node Chemnitz actively represent computational neuroscience in their teaching activites. In addition to the existing courses offered in various degree programs (B.Sc. und M.Sc.), the Microdegree „Computational Neuroscience“ is expected to be established in the winter semester 2025/26. It will be acquired by providing proof of 30 credit points (equivalent to the usual workload of a semester) in associated courses and modules (“microcredentials”). The microdegree and microcredentials will also be open to people outside of the Chemnitz University of Technology; details can be found on the website of Bernstein-Node Chemnitz.
