Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience Göttingen

The Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience (BCCN) Göttingen is an interdisciplinary research center focusing on the exploration of the dynamics and adaptivity of the nervous system. It unites researchers in the fields of biology, physics, computer science, psychology, and medicine at the Göttingen Campus.

Its mission is to promote joint research initiatives in computational neuroscience through collaborations between theoreticians and experimentalists. Since its foundation in 2004, the BCCN Göttingen has been committed to foster a new generation of scientists who feel equally at home in theoretical as well as in experimental neurosciences, in particular through its PhD program Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience.

In close collaboration with the new Campus Institute for Dynamics of Biological Networks (CIDBN; in foundation), the BCCN organizes joint activities such as seminars, workshops, tutorials, etc., which serve as platforms for scientific exchange and collaboration in the neuroscience and data science community.
