Bernstein Nodes can be established anywhere where there are active many Bernstein Network members but no Bernstein Center is located. They promote not only interdisciplinary collaboration, but also national and international collaboration within the computational neuroscience community. This is because Bernstein Nodes can be set up at locations around the world. The effectively connect scientists working  in both experimental and theoretical fields and foster the coordination of  local and global activities.
