Susanne Schreiber reappointed to the German Ethics Council
Susanne Schreiber, Professor of Theoretical Neurophysiology at the Institute of Biology at Humboldt University and Chair of the Bernstein Network, has been appointed to the German Ethics Council for a second term of office.

The President of the German Bundestag, Bärbel Bas, appointed the members of the German Ethics Council for the new term of office on October 10. Susanne Schreiber, Professor of Theoretical Neurophysiology at the Institute of Biology at Humboldt University and Einstein Professor of Computational Neurophysiology, was appointed for a second term of office. The neurobiologist has been a member of the German Ethics Council since 2020.
About the German Ethics Council
The members of the German Ethics Council exercise their four-year mandate on an honorary basis and may not be reappointed more than once. They represent various scientific, ethical and social disciplines and are intended to reflect the diversity of opinion in society. The Council, which was established in 2008 on the basis of the Ethics Council Act of 2007, deals with ethical, social, scientific, medical and legal issues arising from research and development, particularly in the field of life sciences and their application to humans.
