General
When will it be possible to register?
The registration will open in spring 2024.
Will online participation be possible?
No, the Bernstein Conference 2024 is planned as an on-site event only.
Is on-site registration possible?
Yes, provided there are still places available.
Is there a maximum number of participants?
Yes. Although we try to accept all registrations, we reserve the right to close the registration early if the maximum number of participants is reached.
I want to register for an event that is already fully booked. Is there a waiting list?
There are waiting lists for the Satellite Workshops and the PhD Symposium. Please send an email to bernstein.conference@fz-juelich.de to sign up for the waiting list.
For the Conference Dinner, there are usually some last-minute cancellations. We will organize a swap meet for these dinner tickets on-site.
Will there be travel grants?
Yes, we will provide up to 10 travel grants, each of 500 Euro. Eligible to apply are student and postdoc members of the Bernstein Network Computational Neuroscience. All details here.
On-Site
Will the conference venue be barrier-free?
Yes, the venue will be barrier-free. If you require accessibility, please contact us via bernstein.conference@fz-juelich.de in advance so we can arrange assistance.
Will there be catering at the conference?
Yes, there will be breaks with coffee, tea, and snacks during the mornings and afternoons. Additionally, there will be a dinner buffet on some days.
Will there be wifi at the conference site?
Yes, there will be eduoram on the site.

What are the submission guidelines for abstracts?
The body text cannot exceed 2500 characters (including spaces).
Although not mandatory one figure can be added: JPG, GIF, and PNG formats are supported, the size limit is 5MB, figure caption max 300 characters.
The contributed talks will be selected in a double-blind review process. If your abstract shall be considered for a contributed talk, please make sure that the abstract is written in a third person perspective and does not contain any indication to the authors.
I have submitted an abstract. Will I automatically be registered for the conference?
No, please do not forget to register.
I will present a poster at the conference. What dimensions should the poster have?
Please prepare your poster in portrait format only. The dimensions should correspond to the A0 format (841 mm x 1189 mm or 33.1 inches x 46.8 inches).
